Child Parent Relationship

Child Parent Relationship

Our therapeutic approaches are designed to foster healthier communication, emotional understanding, and conflict resolution between both parties. One of the most commonly used approaches is Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which focuses on enhancing positive interactions and reducing negative behaviours through structured coaching. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can also be adapted to work with children and parents, helping them identify and change maladaptive thoughts and behaviours that contribute to conflict or stress. Additionally, Attachment-Based Therapy emphasizes strengthening the emotional bond between parent and child by addressing underlying attachment issues. These therapies often incorporate strategies such as role-playing, active listening, and emotion regulation skills to create a more supportive and responsive family dynamic. The goal is to promote healthier, more empathetic interactions, leading to better emotional and behavioural outcomes for the child and a stronger, more resilient parent-child relationship.
